This page covers the whole spectrum of entertainment available close to your holiday accommodation at Shenval organic B&B, near Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland.  Along with Highland culture and heritage events, music (Blas Festival,  Blazin' in Beauly, contemporary, Scottish, traditional, Celtic, fiddle workshops, jazz), theatre, dance, craft workshops, archaeology festival and exhibitions are detailed below. More specific events like Highland Games are listed in the column to the left , while outdoor events such as guided walks, walking festivals, duathlons, marathons and fun runs can be found in the left column too.

Of course large venues like Eden Court in Inverness,  half an hour's drive from Shenval B&B, have the financial clout to attract the biggest names of international entertainment in fields as diverse as opera, ballet, dance, theatre, comedy, drama, visual arts, classical music, jazz and traditional music, some of which we highlight here, every now and then.

More modest places like The Ironworks and Hootananny in Inverness are more specialised in folk, blues, rock/blue grass and world music.
But most of all we prefer to give even more modest venues in nearby villages like those in Drumnadrochit, Beauly or Strathpeffer the chance to promote well-known and less well-known artists who provide valued entertainment opportunities in remote countryside. Indeed, there is fun, culture and entertainment well beyond the boundaries of the Highland capital!

Also always worth having a look at are the Beauly Gallery and the Kilmorack Gallery, close to each other and only 25mns drive from Shenval B&B,  while the Inchmore Gallery can easily be found on the road from Beauly to Inverness.

Sunday 19th, close to Shenval B&B, Scots traditional musicians Ewan MacPherson (mandolin), Alasdair White (fiddle) and Aaron Jones (bouzouki/guitar),  will play at 4pm, Glenurquhart Hall, Drumnadrochit by Loch Ness. They'll be featuring tracks from Ewan's self-penned solo album, "Fetch", released last November. Monday 6th, Blazin' Fiddles comes near Shenval B&B,with their fiery blend of Scots traditional fiddle music at 7.30pm at he Craigmonie Centre, in Drumnadrochit by Loch Ness.

Sunday 30th, Glenurquhart Public Hall, 10 mns from Shenval B&B, will play host to Mairearad Green on accordion and Anna Massie on guitar for what has become their annual teatime concert at 4pm. The best craic and the best traditional tunes are assured. Tickets on sale from Monday 17th Oct.
