ORGANIC HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION AT SHENVAL B&B
NEAR LOCH NESS AND GLEN AFFRIC

Enjoy a peaceful holiday in the Highlands of Scotland near Loch Ness at the accommodation provided by Shenval organic Bed & Breakfast and listen to the silence…
A mere 10 minutes' drive from Loch Ness, between Drumnadrochit and Glen Affric, Shenval B&B is located in the quiet hamlet of Shenval which nestles at the foot of Suidhe Ghuirmain (578 metres), in a charming cul-de-sac on the Affric Kintail Way off the main A831 road, with a river at both ends.

The information below is momentarily superseded by our provisional Shenval B&B and Covid-19 policy

Unwind in your own bedroom, maybe with the company of a book picked up from our well-stocked bookshelves.  Or join us in our sitting-room for a friendly chat by the fireside and gain an off-the-beaten track insight into the natural and human history of the Highlands of Scotland. Many memorable evenings have been enjoyed by our guests (see our Testimonials page) from all over the world.

All our books, leaflets and brochures, maps, cards and board games are at your disposal.

Enjoy the delights of our organic cuisine (see our link in left hand column) in the pleasant surroundings of our dining room overlooking the garden. Savour our fare whilst watching the antics of the goldcrest amidst the sweet peas, or the blue tit having his bath.

The hamlet of SHENVAL has strong ties with the past …

Go over the bridge off the A831 road and discover a hidden oasis of greenery and serenity. From our doorstep walk a section of the Affric Kintail Way either to Drumnadrochit or to Cannich or cycle the waymarked forest trails from Drumnadrochit, by Loch Ness, to prehistoric Corrimony Chambered Cairn and take in the special atmosphere of our tiny village.

The hamlet derives its name from the Gaelic “Seanabhaile”, meaning “ancient village”. Ancient it is indeed, with the best preserved remnant of several Shenval prehistoric houses - known as hut circles- to be found in our own back garden, dating back to the Bronze Age (2,500 years B.C.).

Not sure if there was any Shenval B and B activity then!
